Letter from the Chair
Dear Netball Member
I am writing to you to keep you in the loop of what is happening in your County.
Currently as you may have seen in the media and on England Netball websites we
have just received our funding allocation for the next 4 year period from Sport
England. This means that England Netball, North West Region and Your County -
Greater Manchester are currently undergoing a massive project to plan for the next 4
years 2013-2017.
One of England’s main goals is to become number 1 in the world
and they have to write how they plan on achieving this, and after the successful Test
Series win over Australia things are looking good. Other planning areas affect the
County in significant ways. The planning process cannot be done overnight nor can
we allow it to take too long. But there are lots of changes we need to consider and
get right:
information from England Netball on.
My promise is that we will work constructively and effectively with the member’s best
interest as paramount. We will communicate the changes with you as soon as we ave devised the plan and are ready to implement them. Keep your eye on the
Websites County, Regional and England Netball.
What I ask from you is that you raise questions if you have them with your County in
the first instance, circulate any information you receive, bare with us during the
transition stages and continue to enjoy your netball in whatever capacity you are
involved. Your committee is here to support you and do right by you as a member of
England Netball. We receive affiliation money from you so we want to use that
money in the best interest of everyone in the County from junior to senior players,
officials, coaches and especially volunteers as without you we can’t continue to run
our sport.
If you have any queries regarding any issues related to netball then please drop me
an email and I will forward it on to the relevant committee member if required.

Kind Regards

get right:
- Such changes for example fall under Competition. We have to review what we currently run. What we will run and in what age groups over the next 4 years dependant on what England and the Region are running for example the reintroduction of the Under 19’s National Clubs.
- Other changes will affect how we scout for Excel – where and when, what age groups we will have, how many groups etc.
- There are significant umpiring differences within the C grade course and how those courses will be ran.
